‘Proving God’ timing too good to be true

God really does exist! How do I know this? Because tonight on History, there’s a terrific special, “Proving God,” that proves it, that’s how.

No, they won’t prove it by what the astrophysicist priests at the Vatican Observatory tell us they’ve found, nor what quantum physicists reveal, nor even what archeologists uncover in the show, but because History randomly decided to air the show today.

And that’s important — why? Because by sheer coincidence it was also announced yesterday that today scientists are going to make a major announcement about the elusive “God particle” — the particle that gives everything mass.

And, yes, the show does delve into the research on that very particle.

Only God could make a media blitz of a coincidence like this — no?

More coincidentally, the show hadn’t been sent out for review, but because we at The Post found the topic so fascinating, we insisted on an advance look via a link.

The special is not for the dopey, the shallow or the Kardashians. It’s for people who truly are interested in the eternal question, “Is there a God?”

The special travels around the globe talking to the cosmologist/priests at the Vatican Observatory who tell us why they search the heavens.

We witness things like an anesthesiologist who has become a faith healer who wipes out stage “X” lung cancer in one person, we travel with a former CSI cop who now uses all of his training to uncover the secrets of the Bible.

In fact, for the past several years, he’s been on the trail of the Ark of the Covenant — and he believes he’s found it deep inside the walls of a church on a remote island in Ethiopia.

There it is watched over by one tenant: “The Guard,” a Jewish cleric who spends his entire life alone with the relic, that only he is allowed to behold. Anyone else who views it can die.

He tells us three monks snuck in less than a decade ago to view the relic. One died on the spot, the other shortly thereafter, but the other is still alive. Why? Maybe because he was almost blind to begin with so didn’t get a very good look.

God is very strict about these things. Don’t miss it!
