Anderson Cooper to interview Amy Winehouse’s family for daytime talk show debut

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper will sit down with the family of the late British singer Amy Winehouse for the premiere episode of his syndicated daytime talk show, The Wrap reported Tuesday.

Cooper will interview Winehouse’s father Mitch, her mother Janis and her brother Alex on the premiere episode of “Anderson.” Her on-again off-again boyfriend, filmmaker Reg Traviss, will also be part of the episode.

Grammy-winner Winehouse, who had a long and public battle with substance abuse, was found dead at age 27 at her North London home on July 23. No cause of death has been determined but toxicology reports showed she had not taken illegal drugs.

“I’m really looking forward to speaking with Amy Winehouse’s family,” Cooper tweeted Tuesday. “They’ve been through so much, and her talent was so great.”

“Anderson” is set to premiere Sept. 12.
