Fighter jets intercepted and escorted airliners bound for New York and Detroit yesterday in two bizarre false alarms.
In one case, three passengers were flagged for taking odd bathroom breaks; in the other, two lovebirds were apparently seeking mile-high club status.
American Flight 34 from LA was 100 miles from JFK when a flight attendant reported three men standing up at their seats simultaneously. A passenger also reported they were making a suspiciously high number of trips to the lavatory. They were freed after questioning.
