This week’s couple: Get the picture

Occasionally two first-daters just “get” each other. That was the case for Aaron, 25, and Kristina, 26, who met at Casa Pomona on the Upper West Side. Despite Kristina dropping her utensils and a good-looking waiter getting all the attention, the pair hit it off. They exchanged numbers by taking a picture together on her cell, and, if not a perfect match, the two seemed to be perfect friends for each other.

He said:

When I walked into the restaurant, Kristina walked up as well . . .perfect timing! She seemed very warm, bubbly and excited.

Kristina did some funny accents and impressions. I don’t do accents, but I love a witty exchange, so we went all out with the banter.

At Casa Pomona, we ordered a cheese plate and paella, but let’s talk about our waiter: He looked like a model. (I tried not to get too jealous!). Kristina dropped her fork twice and spilled paella on her dress.

Kristina’s eagerness to be funny initially made it difficult to connect, but eventually, we delved into more personal conversation. We snapped a picture together on her cellphone, and she offered to text it to me — a crafty way of exchanging numbers — and left things open-ended. I would hang out again, but probably as friends.

She said:

Aaron and I arrived at the same time and sat outside because the weather was really nice.

He was not tall enough for my liking and pretty thin — but really cute. We talked about jobs and hobbies and cracked jokes about our hot waiter. After that, we dove into more meaningful conversations.

It felt like we had all of Casa Pomona to ourselves. We finally left the restaurant four hours later, and Aaron offered to drive me to a nearby train station. We cruised downtown while listening to the Lorde Pandora station.

He wanted to send his friend a photo of us, so we took a picture on my phone and I sent it to him. It was a sly way to exchange numbers. He told me to call him — because we’re all about switching gender roles.
