WEST SIDE FIEND NAILED

A would-be rapist who attacked a woman in front of her tony Central Park building escaped, only to be nabbed a day later after returning to the area – to shoplift eyedrops from a drug store, cops said yesterday.

Milton Sallasoda, 37, allegedly assaulted the 43-year-old woman after she got out of a cab on West 82nd Street around midnight Wednesday. The woman helped investigators draw a composite sketch of her attacker, and that – along with Sallasoda’s own recklessness – did him in, authorities said.

The next day, he was busted for allegedly swiping seven bottles of Visine and hair gel from a nearby Rite Aid. When investigators noticed the resemblance between Sallasoda and the sketch, cops called the victim in and she identified Sallasoda as her attacker.

He was being held on $30,000 bail.
