People is obviously trying to add a little sizzle with the younger set, today unveiling a new section, “Ones to Watch,” on up-and-comers in pop music and Hollywood.
“It’s a new franchise we’re launching, a way to celebrate new Hollywood,” said People Managing Editor Larry Hackett .
The eight people on the Ones to Watch list are topped by Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Andy Samberg and the Sam Claflin, who will be in the “Hunger Games” sequel, “Catching Fire.”
Musical stars include Kacey Musgraves, whose new album is “Same Trailer Different Park” and the pop duo Capital Cities, with the current hit single “Safe and Sound.”
Also making the list: Rebel Wilson from TV show “Super Fun Night”; Anna Faris from the comedy “Mom”; Michael B. Jordan from the movie “Fruitvale Station” and Benedict Cumberbatch, an actor with big roles in three movies due out this fall: “The Fifth Estate,” “12 Years a Slave” and “August: Osage County.”
