Cease fire!

Supermodel Christie Brinkley and her ex-husband Peter Cook have resolved their legal differences and avoided yet another ugly courtroom skirmish.

In a deal reached over the weekend, The Hamptons architect and his ex agreed to a deal that will spare them a trial that had been scheduled for tomorrow.

“I feel great about the settlement,” Cook said. “We got everything we had hopes for.”

The couple had been fighting over seemingly minor issues including nasty e-mail correspondence and expenses related to the care of their two children, Sailor and Jack.

The terms of the settlement include a provision that a parental coordinator be appointed to help the couple care for the two kids without constant fighting.

“Peter Cook has been completely vindicated,” his lawyer Jim Winkley wrote in a statement, who called the lawsuit “meritless.”

“In addition to receiving financial compensation for having to address Ms. Brinkley’s frivolous lawsuit against him, Mr. Cook has also secured a parenting coordinator, something he has sought, and Ms. Brinkley has refused, for 4 years. Ms. Brinkley is now mandated to co-parent directly with Mr. Cook and she will be monitored.”

““The settlement we reached proves Ms. Brinkley’s claims were baseless and that a hearing would have only proved to be a further embarrassment for her,” the statement read.

Brinkley sparred with Cook’s new wife, Suzanne Shaw, in a bitter court proceeding Friday.

Even with the settlement, both sides still blasted each other.

“Let it be known, that I “moved on” from my marriage to Peter Cook the moment a police offer tapped me on the shoulder and informed me that ‘my husband had been cheating on me in a two year affair with his 17 year-old-daughter,’” Brinkley wrote on Facebook.

“Since that moment, it has been an odyssey of frustration as I have navigated the court system with one goal to find peace and protection for my family from the various forms of abuse at the hands of a narcissist.”
