Tina & Amy to host Globes through 2015

If it works once, why not try it twice more.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s turn at co-hosting the Golden Globes this January, was such a success that NBC and Dick Clarke Productions have agreed to bring the duo back to host the show the next two years, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Rumors that producers wanted to bring the former “SNL” duo back had been circulating since August.

“Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business, and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season,” said the network’s president of alternative and late night programming Paul Telegdy.

It’s understandable why NBC and Dick Clarke Productions would want to bring the former “SNL” stars back for 2014 and 2015. This year’s co-hosting gig brought in critical raves and 19.7 million viewers, the largest audience the show had had in six years.

And in matters of importance to TV and ad execs, the show earned a 6.4 rating among 18 to 49-year-olds, a 28 percent increase from the previous year.

This won’t be the first time the duo has appeared together at an award show since January, though. In September Fey and Poehler teamed up during the opening of the Neil Patrick-hosted Emmys.
