SWINDLE SUSPECT WINS A ROUND

Accused socialite swindler Dina Wein-Reis should be sleeping easier today – a judge ordered the feds to return linens, furniture and artwork seized from her Upper West Side mansion.

Defense lawyer Michael Sommer said agents “ran amok,” even taking “sheets off a bed” when they busted her last year.

“It really is outrageous,” he said.

Sommer argued that some of the seized items – including Wein-Reis’ wedding ring and her sons’ bar mitzvah watches – couldn’t possibly be connected to her alleged $80 million scam on Fortune 500 companies.

Authorities say Wein-Reis tricked firms into selling her discounted goods – supposedly destined for charity – that she instead sold for huge profits to finance a lavish lifestyle that included a $35 million art collection and a $30 million mansion on Riverside Drive.

Court papers say the treasure trove also included seven sculptures, nearly 60 paintings by Andy Warhol, among others, and dozens of pieces of jewelry from Tiffany, Cartier and Chopard.

Prosecutor Winfield Ong warned that Wein-Reis, 44, “wants the property back free and clear to sell.”
