Former Mayor Ed Koch has been hospitalized for the third time in recent months.
Spokesman George Arzt said Koch, 88, went to Columbia-Presbyterian Saturday at about 10 p.m. with swollen ankles.
He added that Koch “sounded great” when they spoke yesterday and that Koch said it was “nothing serious.”
It’s unclear when he will be released.
Arzt said Koch didn’t look good at lunch with former aides Saturday afternoon.
He was at dinner Saturday night with friends, including a doctor who recommended he seek medical attention.
Koch was hospitalized in December with a respiratory infection and in September with anemia.
He served three terms from 1978 to 1989.
