These bloodsuckers have really drained moviegoers of their money.
“Twilight” lovers Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have topped a new list as Hollywood’s highest-grossing romantic couple on the big screen — and they happen to be a couple in real life, too.
Forbes, which looked at the top-grossing romantic movies of the past three years in compiling its list of 10 couples, said that Stewart and Pattinson’s last three vampire flicks earned $1.17 billion in the United States.
“The fact that we get to track the couple’s off-screen romance along with their on-screen love just adds to the overall romance of the films,’’ Forbes said.
Ranked a distant second were Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams for “The Vow,’’ which earned $125 million in the US.
Nailing down third place were Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler, whose “Just Go With It’’ earned $103 million at the domestic box office.
Tatum captured a spot on the list twice.
He and Amanda Seyfried placed sixth for “Dear John,’’ which earned $80 million domestically.
Pattinson also landed on the list two times.
He and co-star Reese Witherspoon grabbed 10th place for “Water for Elephants,’’ which pulled in $59 million at the US box office.
