It’s safe to say she’s cleaned her last toilet.
Cleaning lady Dana Harchuck, 31, of Brooklyn, will get $323,981 after taxes each year for the rest of her life — which changed dramatically last month when she bought a winning $20 scratch-off lottery ticket near her Marine Park home.
Harchuck, who is the single mother of an 18-month-old daughter and is expecting her second child next month, plans to spend the money “taking care of my family,” she said yesterday.
That includes paying off all her mother’s debts. “No bills. That’s all, just no bills. She’s happy with that,” Harchuck told reporters at Resorts World Casino in Queens, where lottery officials yesterday handed over her first check.
Harchuck, described by lottery officials and friends as “simple and humble,” said she might also spring for a vacation in Tahiti.
Brooklyn’s newest tyccon said she has given up trying to explain to her toddler daughter, Luna, how their lives are about to change.
“I just tell her that we won, ‘you’re a winner,’ and she says ‘yes.’ She’s happy either way,” said Harchuck.
The struggling mom never dreamed she would one day be rich but always wished her life would get easier.
“I hoped it would be better eventually, and now it is,” she said.
Harchuck bought her winning ticket on June 17 at A&E convenience store on Avenue U in Brooklyn and claimed it the next day.
In the days that followed, the family’s winning streak continued. Her mom, Toni Harchuck, won $500 on a Ruby Red scratch-off and another relative $50 on a different scratch-off ticket.
“There was a lot of struggle but now a dream has come true,” said Toni, 53, who works as a bus matron for handicapped children.
“We are a very simple, humble, close knit, small [family], and we plan to stay this way.”
