Market gardener Upton has taken over from his 88-year-old father Ralph, who died earlier this year - known locally as the "Pumpkin King of Britain" - having grown pumpkins on his six acre plot for more than 40 years. The Uptons plant around 20,000 seeds each spring to produce an organic harvest of more than 50 varieties.
