Partial building collapse in Brooklyn injures 3 construction workers

A Brooklyn building partially collapsed onto three construction workers this afternoon, leaving one hardhat up to his neck in rubble and fighting for his life.

The four-story building at 34 Conselyea St. in Williamsburg had part of a wall fall around 1:30 p.m.

One of the victims, a man in his 40s, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in serious condition after getting crushed by the rubble, the FDNY said.

Two other workers suffered minor injuries and were taken to Woodhull Hospital.

A fourth person, a civilian who had rushed over to help pull the workers from the rubble, also suffered minor injuries.

There was a complaint filed with the Department of Buildings against the address today after the wall collapse, according to the agency’s Web site.

The complaint said the stability of the structure was affected.
