Mitt Romney took time out from the presidential campaign yesterday for a little nautical excitement on a yacht — as First Lady Michelle Obama visited New York and enjoyed a meal with her daughters at a pricey Union Square restaurant owned by legendary chef Bobby Flay.
Romney is seen here at the wheel of his watercraft, gliding across Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire with his family.
Meanwhile, Obama, in town for a fund-raiser today, took her daughters to the Mesa Grill on Fifth Avenue for a meal in the eatery’s secluded second floor.
The restaurant offers grilled lamb Porterhouse chops for $37 and red and black pepper crusted filet mignon for $42. Obama, who encourages her fellow Americans to chow down on salad and steamed vegetables, split a t-bone steak with one of her daughters.
Her visit caused even jaded New Yorkers to gush at the sight of her. “Can’t believe . . . First Lady Michelle Obama was seated two tables away at Mesa Grill :)” one restaurant patron Tweeted.
