A new pizzeria aims to grab a slice of the market by catering to the kosher crowd.
Pizza Luzzo — a partnership between Michele Luzzo and real-estate moguls Alex Sapir, Rotem Rosen and Paolo Zampolli — hopes to build on the success of Luzzo’s in the East Village.
The first kosher location will open in a few months at 261 Madison Ave. at 37th Street, with hopes to expand into a chain.
“I’m from Italy and never had in America a pizza like back home until I tried Luzzo’s, but I could never enjoy it with my partners who eat only kosher,” Zampolli said.
Luzzo tried to create a kosher version, “ I fell in love with it and decided to turn it into a big business,” Zampolli said.
Luzzo’s will also be offering takeout at Koi, a new spot on the southeast corner of Trump SoHo, at 246 Spring St. It will offer takeout sushi as well, Zampolli said.
The popular Japanese restaurant already operates a restaurant at the hotel, along with other Koi locations, including one in Bryant Park.
Sapir and Rosen are the Trump SoHo’s developers, as well as owners of 261 Madison.
