“It’s helpful exploring new places to go and hang around,” said restaurant and bar manager Jonathan Bell, 26, of Astoria.

Citymapper for iPhone combines subway-, bus- and bike-route info with weather and traffic data to help users plan trips.

Robert Green, 26, said it is handy for people like him who aren’t yet familiar with the city.

“It’s nice to know where the closest station is and how far,” the Upper East Sider said.

Winners of the MTA App Quest contest will be announced Sept. 24. The grand prize is $20,000.
