This week’s couple: Totally off track

Location is an important factor in New York City dating. What neighborhood does the other person dwell in? Do I have to take two trains to get to their place? It might seem silly to some, but not to Raja, 27, and Anne, 25, who met for their blind date of small plates and drinks at County, conveniently located in the Flatiron District, halfway between their apartments. Was there a love connection — or did their night get seriously derailed?

I arrived first, and Raja was a few minutes late, which was kind of annoying. But when he finally arrived, he was dressed well and clean-cut.

We started talking about “Game of Thrones,” but he hasn’t seen the show — he’s only read the books. I didn’t want to spoil anything, so we couldn’t get too in-depth. His favorite character is Sansa, one of my least favorites. He is also an actor. Typically, that really means a waiter with far-fetched aspirations — but it sounds like he gets work.

County was cute and quiet, and the cocktails were nice. I went with a gingered old-fashioned and then my staple, a Manhattan.

We did not exchange numbers. Raja mentioned the commute would be too long — I live on the J line, and he’s on the 1. He was a nice guy, and not bad-looking, but I didn’t feel a romantic spark. I think I want to stick with my usual tech/math guys.

My first impression of Anne was she was super cute, with a nerdy-chic vibe. When we started talking, it was obvious she was smart. Unfortunately, we had completely different opinions on just about everything.

She loved the new season of “Arrested Development”; I hated it. And as soon as she mentioned that she lived deep in Bushwick, I knew it was never going to work. For an Upper West Sider like me, the commute is just too much. But she’s a great conversationalist.

If we lived closer to each other, I could see us being quite good friends. The romantic chemistry just wasn’t there, and the travel logistics make another date nearly impossible. If only we lived closer.
