Snee, Baas hurting on Giants offensive line

Of all the problem areas for the Giants, the offensive line is the most problematic of all. Might changes be forthcoming?

“We’ll see,’’ Tom Coughlin said Monday. “Your team is your team. If there is something that we think can do, can help, then I would consider it.’’

Coughlin may not have a choice in making a change. Coughlin revealed right guard Chris Snee and center David Baas are dealing with “some issues’’ that might take them off the field.

“We’re trying to figure out where that is right now,’’ Coughlin said.

Asked whether these physical issues will affect their availability for Sunday’s game in Kansas City, Coughlin said, “I don’t know. I hope not, but we’ll see. There are things that have to be looked at.’’

Snee is dealing with the after-effects of offseason hip surgery. Baas is dealing with a lingering neck problem. Both underwent MRI exams.

Something certainly is amiss up front. Eli Manning was sacked seven times in the 38-0 loss to the Panthers on Sunday, at times feeling pressure the instant after he got the ball.

“Sometimes you play games and you get beat,’’ Manning said. “It’s unfortunate. The first two games, I thought our offensive line played very well and we were able to sit back there and go through progressions and go through reads and make throws. This past game, they got after us a good bit and made it tough for the offense to execute. That was unfortunate. We got good players, guys who take pride in what they’re doing. We had a bad game and they’ll get better.’’

The option for a lineup change hinges on the availability of David Diehl, who has not played this season following thumb surgery but might be ready to make his 2013 debut soon. He can play either guard spot or even right tackle. Kevin Boothe, the starting left guard, could fill in for Baas at center if need be.
