Milwaukee Bucks: Don’t put a strip club next door!

MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Admirals and Marquette University are on record in opposition to a proposed strip club near the Bradley Center in downtown Milwaukee.

The three organizations have sent a joint letter to Mayor Tom Barrett and members of the City Council expressing their concern about the club that wants to rent a city-owned building across the street from the main entrance to the arena.

The Bucks, Admirals (a minor league hockey team) and Marquette say the city should do everything it can to keep the area family friendly. They say the presence of a strip club will change the way the neighborhood is perceived and will hurt their business.

Downtown Silk MKE has filed a proposal with the city seeking tavern and entertainment licenses for the vacant 8,800-square-foot restaurant and bar space.
