JR Smith: We should ‘celebrate’ 9/11 deaths

J.R., what are you smoking?

In a horribly-worded post to Instagram on Wednesday afternoon, wild and wacky Knicks swingman J.R. Smith wrote as the caption for a photo of a diorama commemorating the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks: “Celebrate the deaths of the people in 9/11!”

It appears Smith had honorable intentions, including the hashtags “#WELOVEYOU” and “#WEWILLNEVERFORGET.” Maybe he meant “remember” the deaths or celebrate the “lives.” Even when Smith is trying to make good, he commits some faux pas.

Last week, Smith received a five-game drug suspension from the NBA after reportedly testing positive for marijuana, adding to his laundry list of bizarre antics and off-the-court missteps.
