The What:
The show notes explained the collection as “an artful and architectural approach to clothes with a decidedly athletic reference” and when the show began that phrase was apparent with fabrics collaged together for an assortment of sporty, yet elegant looks. Layered silk chiffon racer back dresses that moved with and away from the body were key throughout the collection and found in cobalt blue, citron and geranium and of course black. Wang’s skill of mixing function and craftsmanship to make each piece special were apparent throughout the show, but even more so in a few looks with melted sequin palettes.
The Highlight:
While examining the looks as they made their way down the runway, the geranium silk chiffon pieces were show stoppers in color, material and style.
The Takeaway:
“Sporty” has taken on a new meaning.
