NFL: No basis for Cowboy claims of Giants fakery

The Cowboys, most notably owner Jerry Jones, made plenty of noise following Sunday’s 36-31 victory, accusing the Giants of faking injuries to slow down Tony Romo and his up-tempo offense.

“It was so obvious it was funny,’’ Jones said.

Although the Cowboys did not file a formal complaint, the league did take a look at Jones’ claim and came away unimpressed.

“We see no basis at this time for taking action,’’ NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said in an email to The Post.

Two Giant defensive players, Cullen Jenkins and Dan Connor, went down on back-to-back plays, slowing the pace of the game. Jenkins was able to return to the game, Connor, who suffered a burner, was not.
