Your weekly guide to TV’s best and worst one-hour shows

Not a “Breaking Bad” fan? If you didn’t bother with the series marathon this week, tonight’s finale is probably not the time to try to catch up. Some dramatic alternatives to consider:

“Homeland” (9 p.m., Showtime)
Brody (Damian Lewis) is now the hunted after being falsely accused of blowing stuff up in the season 2 finale, as opposed to the season 1 finale, in which he did plan to blow stuff up but wasn’t suspected. On the red carpet, Emmy winner Claire Danes said to expect plenty of sad twists in season 3, which is saying something considering the number of improbable twists thrown in last time.

“Foyle’s War” (9 p.m., PBS)
If you haven’t been keeping up with this Masterpiece Mystery, the seventh-season finale is probably not the time to try to catch up with the World War II-era spy caper, especially as the bodies continue to pile up. But if you love a good historical crime solver, you could do a lot worse than the likable Christopher Foyle (Michael Kitchen), whose unassuming manner is as calming as a cup of chamomile tea.

MADELINE STOWEABC

“Revenge” (9 p.m., ABC)
We start this season with a flashback to the beginning of summer and another Memorial Day weekend party featuring attire destined for dry-cleaning hell, although Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) has more pressing family reunion issues.

“The Good Wife” (9 p.m., CBS)
Looking for a more traditional hour-long drama? The best of the old network guard remains this Julianna Margulies vehicle, although last season’s finale unscrewed the wheels as the once morally incorruptible lawyer chose to abandon Lockhart/Gardner for a new firm with shady Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry). The question remains whether this show can survive without Alicia’s most formidable foe, the wily Louis Canning. His portrayer, Michael J. Fox, moved on to his own show on another network, which promotes itself by advertising in Google searches for “The Good Wife” with “Like The Good Wife? – Watch the Michael J Fox Show on NBC.”

“Once Upon a Time: Journey to Neverland” (7 p.m., ABC)
The review episode is too often a reminder that most TV shows’ season of plot lines could be summed up in an hour. But with its spinoff imminent, you might as well catch up now. The gang is headed to Neverland — which thankfully promises more of hottie Hook — as Emma and Mary Margaret, among others, attempt to rescue Henry from Greg and Tamara.
