NYY Steak taps all-star line-up for Midtown location

The New York Yankees have assembled an all-star team to launch their second NYY Steak.

The partnership with Hard Rock International is to open at 7 W. 51st St. in November. Side Dish was the first to report the new location in 2011.

The 16,000-square-foot restaurant, housed in a former bank, will stretch over three floors and feature two private dining rooms, including an intimate 16-seat room in the former vault. A pair of mirror-image open kitchens, stacked one on top of the other, will enable guests to see all the behind-the-burner action.

The 200-plus seat restaurant will feature its signature autograph wall, with the names of retired stars.

Signature menu items from executive chef Elliot Lopez, who ran the kitchen at the original Yankee Stadium NYY Steak location, include a 27-ounce char-grilled long bone rib- eye, paying homage to the Bronx Bombers’ 27 World Series titles.

Limani, a new Greek seafood restaurant, will ring in the new year at Rockefeller Center.

The restaurant, whose name is Greek for “seaport,” will take up 8,000 square feet at 45 Rockefeller Plaza by 51st Street.

It will seat 250 people in the main dining room and bar/lounge area. There will also be two private function spaces, and another seated area overlooking the plaza for warm weather dining.

The original Limani, in Long Island, launched in 2008.

Upscale Irish comfort food meets sophisticated Swiss fare at Marston, which is slated to open early December at 310 W. 53rd St.

The 2,500-square-foot restaurant, between Eighth and Ninth avenues, is in a vintage brick-lined bi-level space that will have around 62 seats.

It will be owned and operated by Patrick O’Sullivan and chef Claude Solliard, of the late, lamented Seppi’s in Le Parker Meridien.

The menu will pay homage to both men’s heritage. Think savory pies as a nod to O’Sullivan’s Irish roots and fondue to reflect Claude’s Swiss background.
