Australian model Jessica Hart has set a cat among the pigeons, criticizing Taylor SwiftÂ’s participation in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York.
Interviewed at a party after the show, Hart said the popular country singer did not fit with the rest of the models, Womens Wear Daily reports.
“I think, you know what, God bless her heart. I think she’s great,” said Hart. “But I don’t know, to me, she didn’t fit. I don’t know if I should say that.”
Hart, 27, intimated that Swift, 23, was too young or inexperienced for the role, in spite of the fact some of the Victoria’s Secret models are younger, including highly regarded model Karlie Kloss, who is 21.
“I think what you find is that for a lot of us, we’ve been working for 14, 15 years; what it takes to make it here comes from experience and confidence and knowing how to be confident with yourself. I think it comes with age. It’s definitely the benchmark of all jobs.”
Swift performed during the opening and close of the show.
“I think she’s the coolest young girl,” Kloss told Us Weekly. “She’s a great role model, and I love her music. It’s happening. I mean, girl power.”
Model Lily Aldridge, who also hails from Nashville, said she and Swift enjoyed a little moment together on stage at the end of the song Trouble. “[Taylor] is one of my best friends, so we had so much fun.”
