TRYING TIMES FOR PEDRO’S KID, TOO

A Bronx judge yesterday nixed a plea deal for state Sen. Pedro Espada Jr.’s son, who is charged with harassment and criminal mischief over an alleged scuffle with a journalist at a 2008 campaign event.

Alejandro Espada, 29, was ready to plead guilty to a violation, but Judge Joseph Dawson instead set a July 27 trial date. A witness said Alejandro Espada smashed a video camera belonging to Rafael Martinez-Alequin, who had just recorded Sen. Espada claiming to be “the real Democrat” in his successful race against Efrain Gonzalez Jr.
