With a “sincere” yuletide wish, a Brooklyn federal judge sentenced Genovese mob capo Michael “Mikey Cigars” Coppola to 16 years in prison for 30 years of union extortion.
A jury convicted Coppola of racketeering in July but acquitted him of the 1977 rubout of Giovanni “Johnny Cokes” Larducci.
Coppola promised to appeal. He also wished the judge a Merry Christmas.
“I mean this sincerely,” Judge John Gleeson told the gangster. “Merry Christmas to you and your family.”
