Cops eye murder gun

Cops found an apparently bloody gun just steps from where an ex-con killed three members of an Upper West Side family.

The .380 caliber Beretta was found wedged between two bags of trash inside a garbage can on West 84th Street just off Amsterdam Avenue — next to a gate where Hector Quinones fell after the triple slaying Thursday, cops said.

Investigators are trying to determine if it is the murder weapon.

Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne said that the gun was intentionally stashed in the garbage can — which is protected by a fence — but it’s not clear who put it there.

Detectives discovered a similar weapon inside the apartment right after the killings, but ballistics showed it wasn’t the murder weapon.
