Bravo tests waters for Salahi show

Forget about “Real House wives of Washington DC,” the Salahis could be getting their very own reality series.

NBC Universal, which owns Bravo, briefly issued an online survey yesterday, asking customers for their opinions on the infamous White House gate-crashing couple, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, reports Broadcasting & Cable.

In a section asking how strongly customers agree or disagree with various statements, one eyebrow-raising standout was: “If a network gave them their own reality show, it would negatively influence my opinion of that network.” This suggests that somewhere within the NBCU wheelhouse, someone is contemplating giving the fame-seeking duo a shot at their own TV show.

Other statements that NBCU sought commentary on include, “Featuring this couple on a reality show would be rewarding their actions,” “They would make great ‘love to hate’ characters on a reality show” and “Michaele Salahi is great eye candy.”

The questionnaire also wanted to know what viewers thought about the coverage that the duo have received since crashing President Obama’s first state dinner on Nov. 24 and the “first words that pop into your head when you think of the White House Gate Crashers story.”

The Salahis are currently under federal investigation with a Congressional committee having voted to subpoena the pair for a hearing on Capitol Hill on Jan. 20. Their lawyers say that they intend to plead the Fifth — which would prevent them from incriminating themselves.
