Get out the old Ric Flair T-shirt and work on that fist pump — the borough is about to receive its first piledriver of the decade.
Brooklyn’s finest warriors will join some of the world’s top World Wrestling Federation and World Wrestling Entertainment stars in the year’s first Forgotten Championship Wrestling event on Feb. 6.
When the bell rings and the shirts come off, it’s going to be our very own — “Mr. Everything” (pictured) and “Lucifer Darksyde” among them — going head-to-head against wrestling legends like Hall of Famer Johnny Valiant and Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake.
But this ain’t no frolic in the flowers.
“Wrestlers used to bleed — and it meant something,” said Tony Ntellas, president of FCW. “These are going to be some old-school, hand-to-hand fights.”
That said, he promised a family-friendly event (Manson Family, perhaps!). But the good news is that our independent idols aren’t the burnt-out, tired combatants captured by Mickey Rourke in “The Wrestler.” You’ll pay for your whole seat, but you’ll only need the edge.
Proceeds will go to the Memorial Day Foundation, honoring our soldiers overseas and the many who never came back alive.
