One day after he opened the door wide for LeBron James by clearing enough cap space for James to bring along a star companion, Knicks team president Donnie Walsh said yesterday it will still be a challenge to get the superstar. Referring to James, Walsh said on WFAN, “It’s very difficult to get a guy to come out of his hometown if he’s had success there.” The prevailing NBA opinion is if the Cavaliers win a title in June, James stays, even if the Knicks open room for three maxcontract players.
