Toad’s royal proposal ‘bombs’

It’s no fairy-tale romance.

Sweden’s stunning Princess Madeleine has stolen the heart of at least one follower — a creepy stalker who offered the heiress his most unwelcome hand in marriage.

A package sent to the gorgeous royal at the Midtown office of her mom’s charity in cluded a love letter that refers to the already-engaged Madeleine as “my darling,” sources told The Post yesterday.

The marriage pro posal, written in Eng lish, arrived on Tuesday in a box that also contained a bra, panties and wires that didn’t connect to anything.

Madeleine, 27 — ranked as the 12th “hottest young royal” by Forbes magazine — was not present at the time.

Unfortunately for the lovelorn loser who sent it, the princess is already planning to wed her boyfriend of seven years, Jonas Bergstrom.

“She is very much in love,” said Jenny Alexandersson, who covers the royal family for the Swedish daily Aftonbladet.

The package’s arrival Tuesday at the Madison Avenue address of the World Childhood Foundation — a charity founded by Madeleine’s mother, Queen Silvia, to help exploited women — prompted a call to the bomb squad after the wires were spotted in the box.

It was later determined to be harmless.

“The security scanned it as they always do with packages sent to the royal family. There was nothing dangerous in it,” Anika Sonnerberg, spokeswoman for the royal family, said from Stockholm.

The NYPD intelligence unit has called in officials from the State Department to help determine who sent it, sources said.

Madeleine has long been a favorite of paparazzi in Europe.

Last summer, she was awarded $565,000 in damages by a German court after suing tabloid magazines there for libel after they reported she had gotten engaged because she was pregnant.

“The royal family does get unusual mail from time to time, but it is not common,” Alexandersson said. “There are plenty of crazy fans out there.”

Madeleine is third in line to the Swedish throne behind her older sister, Crown Princess Victoria — who ranked seventh on the Forbes list — and brother Prince Carl Phillip, who came in ninth.

The younger princess lives with her fiancé in a modest three-bedroom apartment owned by King Carl XVI Gustaf in central Stockholm but has spent a considerable amount of time in New York.
