Larry Fink not a contender for the top job at BofA

BlackRock’s king, Larry Fink, is content with all that he surveys at his asset management firm, and isn’t interested in taking the scepter at Bank of America.

“Larry Fink has not been approached, has no interest and is very happy at the helm of BlackRock,” a spokeswoman for BlackRock told The Post.

Fink’s name had been thrown about as a possible outside candidate to replace BofA’s departing CEO Ken Lewis, who is stepping down Dec. 31, after a slew of probes into BofA’s shotgun merger with Merrill Lynch.

Sources have told The Post that Fink may feel a “patriotic duty” to help Bank of America, which took a $45 billion bailout, get back on its feet if he was asked to do so.

However, BlackRock’s spokeswoman said that Fink leaving BlackRock just as the firm is integrating a massive joint venture with UK-based Barclays Capital’s asset management arm, is not in the cards.
