Elton John has postponed some concerts and checked himself into a London hospital for treatment of an E. coli bacterial infection and the flu, the singer’s reps revealed yesterday.
John, 62, was resting last night in King Edward VII Hospital, his partner, David Furnish, by his side.
“He has got an infection, flu and everything that goes with it,” a representative told The Daily Mail newspaper in London. “He’s OK. He’s fine.”
Cities where shows have been postponed include Dublin, Liverpool, London, Newcastle and Sheffield as well as Portland, Ore., and Seattle.
The piano legend’s next scheduled gig is Nov. 14 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif.
The Pacific Northwest shows are expected to be rescheduled for December. He’s also scheduled to play in Buffalo on Dec. 4 and Albany on Dec. 7.
