Feds grill Mets’ Jose Reyes on ‘spin’ doc

Mets star shortstop José Reyes has been interviewed by the feds about his relationship with a high-profile Canadian doctor who has been charged with possession of performance-enhancing drugs, sources said.

Reyes, who was sidelined for most of the 2009 season with a hamstring injury, has previously admitted to using Dr. Anthony Galea’s wacky “blood-spinning” technique in his attempt to rehab last year.

But Reyes denied in a December interview with WFAN that he ever received human growth hormone or other performance-enhancing drugs from Galea, who was arrested at the Canadian border Sept. 14 on a charge of trying to smuggle HGH into the United States.

The doctor’s client list reportedly includes Tiger Woods, former Met Carlos Delgado and US Olympic swimmer Dara Torres.

Reyes’ chat with the feds came as the FBI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Food and Drug Administration have begun probing Galea, Sports Illustrated said on its Web site last night.

Other big-time athletes have been told to expect subpoenas in the case, the site reported.

“The Mets are aware of the situation,” team spokesman Jay Horwitz said last night.

A call to Reyes’ agent, Peter Greenberg, was not returned last night.
