Shot Seton Hall hoops star on the rebound

Seton Hall basketball standout Jeremy Hazell is shaken after a terrifying brush with death at the hands of a group of muggers who shot him near his Harlem home, sources said.

“He knows that one inch could have ended his basketball career — or his life,” a source told The Post. “He feels very lucky.”

Despite being wounded, the 24-year-old senior plans to attend practice today and cheer on his team tonight as they take on University of South Florida.

Hazell, 24, one of the most talented shooting guards in college basketball, was struck in the right armpit, but the slug did not cause major damage.

The athlete was returning home to the Carver Houses on East 104th Street with his brother and a friend early Sunday morning when they were ambushed.

A source said that one of the attackers lifted up his shirt to show he was armed.

The three men made a break for it, but the thug fired the gun, striking Hazell.

Law-enforcement sources said the victims did not know their attackers. No arrests have been made.
