Nasty fight with friend led to teen’s killing

The cold-blooded ambush killing of a 16-year-old girl near her Boerum Hill home followed a relentless campaign to pressure her to drop charges against a suspect who’d assaulted her just days before, sources said.

Kendale Robinson, 18, was arrested Friday for allegedly gunning down Al-Taya Conyers outside 450 Warren St. in the Gowanus Houses last Wednesday after witnesses identified him as the alleged gunman, cops said.

Sources said the confrontation ultimately stemmed from a nasty fight Conyers had with a female friend; the dispute then snowballed in an increasingly violent feud.

Conyers — arrested for harassment of the other girl that included threatening messages on Twitter — was herself allegedly assaulted by that girl’s male friend days before her slaying, the sources said.

Subsequently, Conyers was “getting pressured to drop the charges” against the jailed attacker, the sources said.

Robinson has had 16 prior arrests dating back to July 2008, authorities said. He was arrested for another shooting in July 2009, but charges were later dropped.

Robinson was awaiting arraignment last night.
