Not a parent of the year: Judge calls Iverson a drunk, slams care of kids in divorce papers

The Answer apparently needs some practice — in Parenting 101.

Former NBA star Allen Iverson might have been a star player, but he’s a total loser as a parent, his divorce-court judge said.

The Atlanta jurist handing Iverson’s split from ex-wife Tawanna slammed the former Philadelphia 76ers guard as a terrible parent, according to TMZ.

“[Iverson] does not know how to manage the children; has little interest in learning to manage the children and has actually, at times, been a hindrance to their spiritual and emotional growth and development,” Fulton County Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane wrote in final divorce papers.

“For example, he has refused to attend to an obvious and serious alcohol problem, which has caused him to do inappropriate things in the presence of the children while impaired.”

And when A.I. isn’t wasted, he just isn’t there, according to the judge.

“He has left the children alone without supervision. He has left his young daughters in a hotel room with men who are unknown to the mother,” the judge said.

Tawanna has custody of their five kids.

“I think the judge was harsh,” Iverson’s lawyer Melanie Fenwick Thompson told The Post today.

“I don’t think the evidence that was presented supported the posture that she took in the final order and the language she used.”

The 36-year-old former Sixers star has been contemplating a comeback. The 2001 MVP last played in the NBA in early 2010.
