A man horrified shoppers when he jumped to his death in an apparent suicide at a Queens mall this afternoon, cops said.

The 28-year-old landed on the sub-level near Macy’s after he leaped from the third-floor of the Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst about 12:35 p.m., authorities said.

“It sounded like a tire popping, or a gun shot. Then we saw people running out,” said Connie Poonai, 45, the manager at Natural Looks Salon and Spa. “Everyone down here was running around, freaking out, screaming.

It’s very upsetting, we’re all shaking.”

He went into traumatic cardiac arrest, and died shortly after at Elmhurst Hospital, authorities said.

“He didn’t scream,” said John Taylor, 24, who is a manager at Teavana. “He just went down. I was in total shock.”

Police said no criminality is suspected.
