Queens perp pinched for rhino horn smuggle plot

The feds busted a Queens man today for allegedly smuggling ceremonial “libation cups” carved from rhino horns out of the country.

Qiang “Jeffrey” Wang was among three people charged around the country as part of “Operation Crash,” an ongoing crackdown on the killing of endangered rhinos and the black-market trafficking of their horns, which some cultures believe help improve health or bring good luck.

According to a Manhattan federal court complaint, Wang bought several items made of rhino horn in June 2012 and shipped them to Hong Kong in violation of federal law.
