Chris Christie got friended last night by Facebook billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, who held a fundraiser feting the New Jersey governor in Silicon Valley.
The social-network CEO and his wife, Priscilla Chan, opened their Palo Alto home to the blustery gov — the first time the young mogul has raised money for any politician.
“When Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan offer to hold a fund-raiser for you, you say, ‘Yes, sir,’ ” Christie said this week.
The event was expected to raise as much as $380,000.
Among those attending were Condoleezza Rice and former California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman, for whom Christie stumped in 2010.
Gay and women’s-rights groups showed up, however, to protest Christie’s political positions, SFGate.com said.
Zuckerberg, who is not registered with either major party, has been a supporter of President Obama in the past.
