Apple is aggressively pushing the iPhone 5 in India, through installment payment plans that make it more affordable, a new distribution model and a heavy marketing blitz. Apple’s Indian market share last quarter was just 5 percent.

Woolery out

Jim Woolery, 43, of JPMorgan Chase, the co-head of North American M&A operations for the past two years, is jumping to well-known New York law firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft as deputy chairman.

Riggio ready

Barnes & Noble’s Len Riggio may express his interest this week in taking the 689-store bookstore chain private, separating it from the college-store chain and Nook business, WSJ. com reported, citing sources.

Knight move

Knight Capital, the market maker that’s being acquired by Getco, plans to sell its credit-brokerage unit to Stifel Financial, sources said. The team includes investment-grade, high-yield and asset- and mortgage-backed debt brokers in the US and Europe. Knight was bailed out in August by six firms, including Getco and Stifel.
