Florida fun isn’t just for the birds

Bird’s the word

Can’t get enough Angry Birds? Experience real-life Angry Birds action at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, about 45 minutes from Orlando. Last month it unveiled Angry Birds Space Encounter, a 4,500-square-foot interactive exhibit “designed to engage and immerse guests in a new dimension of Angry Birds Space.” Like “Create Your Own Angry Bird,” where you design and print out your creation, and “Eggsteroids Slingshot,” where you use slingshots to launch mini Angry Birds at space pig targets. The Angry Birds Space Encounter is included with regular admission to the Visitor Complex: $50 for adults, $40 for children ages 3-11. kennedyspacecenter.com

Eat chic

Miami’s Design District continues its upward trajectory. Last week marked the opening of the Cypress Room, James Beard award-winning chef Michael Schwartz’s third restaurant in the neighborhood. “A nod to the spirit of classic 1920s fine dining,” the menu at the Cypress Room — currently dinner only — showcases the restaurant’s woodburning grill and rotisserie. Like Schwartz’s other restaurants (Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, Harry’s Pizzeria), the emphasis is on fresh, high-quality ingredients. thecypressroom.com

Tax relief

Make tax season a little less, um, taxing by taking a trip to South Beach. For the month of April, Sagamore, The Art Hotel is offering a “Taxes Are a Beach” package, complete with its own IRS (that’s “Internal Rejuvenation Services”). The offer includes accommodations in a Sagamore Suite (tax free!), $25 “daily stimulus” (hotel credit, applicable toward amenities or room rate), daily breakfast and beach chairs for two, along with free WiFi. From $320 per night; two-night minimum stay. sagamorehotel.com
