NBC eyes late-nite Baldwin

Executives at NBC are reportedly considering Alec Baldwin for a late-night show, as Jimmy Fallon prepares to take over at “The Tonight Show,” according to a report.

There have been “conversations” about Baldwin taking over the 1:35 a.m. slot, now occupied by Carson Daly’s half-hour talk show, “Last Call,” which airs after “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”

NBC recently confirmed that Fallon would take over the duties of hosting “The Tonight Show” when Jay Leno steps down in February of next year.

“Saturday Night Live’s” Seth Meyers is being considered to take Fallon’s current late-night slot. It was not clear what would happen to Daly, according to the E! online report.

Baldwin, whose Emmy-winning tenure at “30 Rock” has ended, is now starring on Broadway in the play “Orphans.”

NBC officials had no comment early this morning, but a source close to the network disputed the report to The Post.
