Serious injuries in five-car crash

A five-vehicle crash in Brooklyn left one person fighting for their life and five others injured on Friday night, authorities said.

According to fire officials, the accident happened on Utica Avenue and Avenue J around 7:50 p.m.

“They had to pry him out with the jaws-of-life,” said witness Mason Anthony, 32, who was getting a haircut nearby at the time of the multi-car crash. “He wasn’t moving. It looked like he had passed away.”

All six victims were transported to Kings County Hospital, five in serious condition, and one person in critical condition, according to authorities.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, police said.
