Whatever happened to … Ghost Dog?

It’s more than a year since Sean Casey rescued Ghost Dog, a beloved, headline-grabbing local stray that had peacefully roamed Prospect Park for years, successfully alluding authorities and befriending sympathetic, snack-yielding Brooklynites.

Last year in May, Casey noticed the dog was acting strangely and appeared to be injured, so he made catching him a priority.

The sweet-eyed, 120-pound Cane Corso had Lyme disease and a chipped bone when he was brought in. He’s healthy now and ready to be adopted, but Casey hasn’t yet found the right match — although many people have applied for the local celebrity.

“We’re going to be very picky,” Casey says. “A young middle-aged couple would be great, especially if they know the breed.”
