Revis back for Bucs

Darrelle Revis is expected on the field at training camp when the Buccaneers hold their first practice today.

The three-time All-Pro cornerback who’s the centerpiece of an effort to overhaul the NFL’s worst pass defense has been cleared medically to participate in some activities after missing most of last season with the Jets following surgery to repair a torn knee ligament.

The Buccaneers also signed receiver Mike Williams to a six-year, $40.25 million contract.

* Titans linebacker Jonathan “Tig’’ Willard said he helped rescue a family from a burning vehicle on his way to Tennessee’s training camp.

The rookie was driving on Interstate 40 on Tuesday when he noticed a sports utility vehicle smoking. He first told TigerNet.com he flashed his lights and honked his horn to get the driver to pull over when he saw flames shoot out the back.

Willard said he handed an infant to the woman before pulling out another child. A second man who had stopped rescued a third child and the family’s dog, before the SUV exploded into flames a few minutes later.

* Robert Griffin III said he doesn’t think he will play in any preseason games.

The Redskins quarterback also said he will be limited in practice when the team opens training camp today.

* The Lions signed wide receiver Chaz Schilens, who had 28 catches in six starts for the Jets last season. The team did not disclose contract terms.

* Broncos linebacker Von Miller offered no details about his pending drug case and pending four-game suspension, repeatedly invoking the NFL’s confidentiality clause to deflect questions during his session with reporters, though he did say he does not smoke marijuana. Miller acknowledged his case is under appeal and promised he would provide answers once the appeal is resolved.
