Tara Reid not asked back for ‘Sharknado’ sequel: report

“Sharknado” creators to Tara Reid: Bite me.

The “American Pie” actress has not been asked back for the sequel to the so-bad-it’s-good Syfy channel thriller, which will be based in New York, according to TMZ. Producers do want former “90210” star Ian Ziering to return.

Reid, who played Ziering’s wife in the original, survived the shark attack, but she was rejected for part two.

Sources told TMZ that Reid and Ziering both made $50,000 for the movie, which has become something of a cult hit because of the sheer ridiculousness of the premise – a tornado that lifts sharks out of the Pacific Ocean and sets them loose on Los Angeles.

“Sharknado” will actually be coming to the big screen on Aug. 2 at Regal Cinemas.

The first airing of the flick was watched on Syfy by just 1.37 million viewers, but it generated a massive amount of attention on social media.
