Alex Rodriguez is the only player who will fight his Biogenesis suspension.
The list of 12 players who will settle today includes a well-known Met whose name had escaped attention to this point: Jordany Valdespin.
Valdespin, currently with Triple-A Las Vegas, has agreed to a 50-game suspension for his involvement in Biogenesis, the now-shuttered anti-aging clinic in South Florida. It’s the latest episode for the utility player whose career has included many behavioral issues. On August 2, he received a three-game suspension from the Pacific Coast League for his involvement in a bench-clearing brawl.

The others who have settled on 50-game bans are Yankees catcher Francisco Cervelli, Texas outfielder Nelson Cruz, Detroit shortstop Jhonny Peralta, San Diego shortstop Everth Cabrera, Seattle catcher Jesus Montero, Yankees minor-leaguer Fernando Martinez, Phillies pitcher Antonio Bastardo, Astros pitcher Sergio Escalona, Mets minor leaguer Cesar Puello and free agents Fautino De Los Santos and Jordan Norberto.
A-Rod will appeal his 211-game suspension and is expected to make his 2013 debut tonight for the Yankees at US Cellular Field.
